This workshop offers a deep dive into the ADA. We will explore the basic tenets of this federal statute as well as an in-depth study of the interactive process by utilizing common requests for accommodations, proper employer/employee interactive discussions and possible reasonable accommodations in response to those requests. Is Your Return to Work Program ADA-Compliant?
This workshop will offer participants an opportunity to investigate the different types of Return to Work (RTW) programs, understand the key components that should be in every RTW program and recognize reasonable accommodations under the ADA.
ADA & Intermittent Leave: One Size Does Not Fit All
This workshop will explore the ADA and one of its most difficult concepts, intermittent leave. Intermittent leave is the hardest leave to track and one of the most frustrating areas of the law. Participants will learn ways to curb abuse, make assessments using the undue hardship analysis, and acquire helpful tips for determining whether a request for intermittent leave is reasonable or not. ADA: The Top 10 Pitfalls for Employers
There can be an array of issues that find employers on the courthouse steps defending a disability discrimination charge. This workshop will highlight the top reasons employers find themselves in violation of the ADA. Participants will learn how to avoid these pitfalls in their own companies and take away best practices in these areas. Mental Health & The ADA
Mental disabilities are often difficult to manage for the individual as well as the employer, but the ADA provides protection for these types of impairments. This workshop will focus on the effect a mental impairment has on an individual and ways these individuals can be accommodated. Scenario based training will be included to drive concept into practical application.
ADA Boot Camp
ADA is one of the most complex federal laws. It is complex because of the many grey areas in the law. Most of these grey areas are explained through case law, but the facts and the issues can be extremely cumbersome and challenging. An ADA Boot Camp provides an opportunity to explore some of the most difficult concepts, while allowing constant learning and active discussion.
